The indoor air handler sits inside the home, usually in a closet, attic, or utility room, and it holds the evaporator coil and blower that move conditioned air through the house. The outdoor condenser unit sits on a pad beside the house and holds the compressor and condenser coil. These two units are the core of what a contractor installs.
